Eye specialist, Dr Rajen Pillay ( MBBCh, FCS (Ophth) SA ) consults at two specialist ophthalmology rooms , based at: 

Fully equipped with the latest technology for specialist ophthalmology, our rooms offer Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT), Humphrey Visual Field testing, Zeiss IOL-master biometry, digital fundus photography,  Alcon argon and YAG laser, corneal topography and corneal cross-linking. We treat eye problems in all age groups, from newborn babies (eg. ROP screening ) and children (eg. refractive problems) to the elderly ( eg. cataract and macular degeneration).

Certain procedures can be done in the rooms under local anaesthesia, these include: removal of foreign bodies, intravitreal injections and eyelid chalazia.
We do NOT offer refractive laser treatments (LASIK) at our specialist ophthalmology rooms.

Initial Consult
On your first visit you will have a consultation with the doctor and a detailed eye examination. Please be prepared to be at our rooms for approximately 2 hours as this is a long process.

Drops will be instilled into your eyes to dilate the pupils for an effective eye examination.
It is recommended that you do NOT drive a vehicle after this visit as your vision may be fuzzy for a few hours after your examination.

Medical Aid
We are contracted to Discovery, Bankmed, Netcare, Bonitas and Fedhealth. We do endeavour to charge as close as possible to the remaining medical aid rates. Please feel free to contact our rooms to discuss your particular medical aid option benefits.

We do our best to keep to appointment times, unfortunately emergencies do arise and may take priority. We thank you in advance for your patience on these occasions.
